Janet Litwack, MS, RDN/ LDN, is a seasoned dietitian with decades of experience, specializing in helping clients improve their health & quality of life through personalized nutrition.
After gaining valuable experience in nutrition counseling through Maimonides Medical Centers’ WIC program in Brooklyn, NY, Janet worked for Holy Cross Hospital in Silver Spring, MD. There she developed expertise in inpatient nutrition, medical nutrition therapy, and critical care nutrition. Additionally, Janet was given the leadership role of running Holy Cross Hospital’s Outpatient Nutrition Services department as well as lead weekly group nutrition counseling support to the Gestational Diabetes Clinic. At Holy Cross, Janet collaborated with physicians to create specialized nutrition plans for acutely ill patients and led outpatient services, focusing on nutrition education, disease prevention, and managing gestational diabetes.
Janet’s diverse experience also includes working in long-term care settings, where she collaborated with medical & multi-disciplinary teams to provide comprehensive nutritional assessments and tailored nutrition plans for residents with chronic conditions. This role allowed her to develop a deep understanding of the unique nutritional needs of long-term care residents and to create effective dietary interventions that improve their quality of life.
Her passion for empowering clients through evidence-based nutrition and individualized guidance led her to establish her private practice.
Janet holds a Bachelor’s degree in Health and Nutrition Sciences from Brooklyn College and a Master’s degree in Clinical Nutrition from New York University. She completed her dietetic internship through NYU at New York Methodist Hospital in Brooklyn, NY.
Janet has received numerous accolades, including the Pearl Gross Brickner Scholarship for excellence in nutrition studies and an invitation to join the prestigious Kappa Omicron Nu National Honor Society for Human Sciences.
Committed to continuous learning, Janet regularly attends workshops and seminars to stay updated with the latest nutrition research and best practices. She is a member of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics as well the local affiliate group DCMAND as well as several specialized dietetic practice groups.
As a Registered Dietitian licensed as a Medical Nutrition Therapy provider in Maryland, Janet is dedicated to helping clients achieve healthier, happier lives through tailored nutrition strategies.
